U-20 Through to the Final

October 13th, 2009 | By: Duvel | 5 Comments »

They’ll play a solid Ghana team in the World Cup final on Friday. This was a well deserved win for the U20 team, although Costa Rica looked like a very legit side. Alan Kardec scored the game winner, and could have had more on more than a few occasions in this match. Rogério Lourenço [...]

Bolivia – Brazil Recap

October 12th, 2009 | By: Duvel | 5 Comments »

Apologies for the tardiness of this recap, it was a busy day today. I just found the time to put this together. Basically, and unsurprisingly, yesterday’s match sucked, there was no other way to put it. Its gotta be hard to motivate yourself for a rather meaningless match in a very difficult and exhausting setting [...]

Bolivia 2 – 1 Brazil

October 11th, 2009 | By: Duvel | 6 Comments »

That sucked. The team was very uninspired this afternoon. Josue and Miranda have no business being on the national team…none. Bolivia definitely deserved the points. I’ll have the full recap either tonight or tomorrow afternoon, no one is getting more than a 6.5 rating.

Barely…Maicon scored twice in the last few minutes of the match. I didn’t get to watch this one so let me know exactly what happened. They play again on Tuesday against a very beatable Costa Rica side.

U-20 Into the Quarterfinals

October 7th, 2009 | By: Duvel | 4 Comments »

This was an impressive attacking display from the U-20 team, but a not so nice defensive show at the same time. This match could have easily been a draw at the end of 90 minutes. Alex Teixiera was oustanding today and is definitely making a name for himself.
The U-20’s next match is on Saturday against [...]

Dunga Calls Helton

October 5th, 2009 | By: Duvel | 11 Comments »

Backup keeper Victor was injured and missed Gremio’s 3-3 draw this weekend with yet another muscle injury for the team. As a result, in a bit of a surprising move, Dunga had to make an immediate call up to the national team, picking Helton of FC Porto. Helton is a bit of a shaky keeper. [...]

U-20 Wins Group; Now Lucio Out Injured

October 4th, 2009 | By: Duvel | 4 Comments »

A much better performance for the Under 20 team today, winning 3-1 against Australia. Brazil won their group with this victory, and now moves on the the round of 16 to play a very talented Uruguay team on October 7th.
Another piece of news was Lucio picking up an injury in his match for Inter [...]

“The Brazilian people are good, generous and the country deserves it. The world has recognized that the time has come for Brazil.” – Presidente Lula
There is a common saying in Brazil: that Brazil would always be the country of the future. Today was undoubtedly a big step in forever putting that saying to rest. The [...]
