I am Brazilian but honest I think that Roberto Baggio was better in the 1994 world cup. Romario always seem so lazy but he come true for us and this is what is the case of the matter. He should retire he is old now dignify!!!

romario was once a good player, one of the bests ive ever seen, beside van basten, robby baggio and fat ronaldo. but nowadays he's too lazy, the more the time goes by, the more he gets lazy and less dangereous...

and what a disgusting thing is scoring goals against amateur teams to get to one thousand goals in his career... the best option he has at the moment is the retirement..

[...] He can score goals too! In his last season in São Paulo he scored 9 of them, becoming the second best scorer in the team that won the Libertadores da América and Toyota Cup. He said that Brazilians have offensiveness in their DNA, and that’s a good explanation to why we are so fanatics for attack. [...]

Romario lives inside the penalty area, that's why he is so good until today. The team must work around him.

Here in Brazil we say that he likes to play "na banheira" (in the bathtub). This term is very used to indicate a lazy player.

Still, he is a monster scorer, so who cares, right?

Romario is one of the most unique players I've ever seen, and I think he should be included in Brazil's World Cup squad.

I think the fact that he played for so long, in Brazil and Holland, hindered him, as far as worldwide fame is concerned, as those two leagues are often ignored by the rest of the world's T.V. and newspapers. I'm an Everton fan from England, and I've been a massive fan of Romario, ever since I saw a documentary about P.S.V., who he then played for, back in 1991.

I think the comment he made about only Pele being better than him, when in the penalty area, is true. I've been watching football since the '86 World Cup, and I've never known another player who is as consistent as he, or as good, when in the penalty area. For me, Maradona was the greatest all-around player, but in the penalty area, even he wasn't as consistent as Romario.

Speaking of Romario here's a story about him.

Amazing to see him still effective at the age of 40.

I Disagree, Romário is an excellent player, extremely dangerous in the goal area, and, if the team need him to defence, he usually try to help.
We do not need watch dogs in the field!!!
