I think Italy would gladly move for him…he’s a Luca Toni that actually moves. It’s funny because the angle we always got was he has always been holding out for Brazil. I don’t think he’ll ever play for Brazil because Dunga either dislikes him or Juventus players.

Alessio, Bruno has hit the nail on the head. Diego’s performances with the national team have been very disappointing, in fact, I cannot remember a time where Diego stood out for the national team. Part of that might be Dunga’s fault, but still he just didn’t do much. Right now he’s behind Kaka, Elano, Julio Baptista, and Anderson on Dunga’s depth chart.

Regarding the Amauri situation…I really got so sick of reading about his indecision that (and I’m not trying to be mean spirited by saying this) I really could care less about who he plays for. It sounds like for quite sometime he has been leaning towards Italy. He faded during the second half of this season, and I don’t think with his current form and fitness, that he would start for Brazil or Italy.

In my opinion, Diego is a “club player”. Never delivers good performances with the national squad, a common type in Brazil. Brazil is better off without him.

Hi Duvel,

Could you explain to me Diego’s position in the Brazilian team? I looked him up, and he’s sometimes not in the team, sometimes on the bench, sometimes starting.

Second of all, what’s your thought on Amauri?

Jzlim thanks for the comment. I agree with your comment about a little more creativity in the midfield. I understand why Dunga likes to play with two defensive midfielders, the defense needs to be protected. However he needs more offensive efficiency in the midfield. I think Ramires is looking solid, and I would not mind seeing what the midfield would look like with him in and Gilberto Silva out.

Great re-cap Duvel. I hope Dunga will realise that he needs more creative player like Diego or Hernanes in midfield. I hope he will give Andre Santos a debut in Confederations Cup. Kleber is just an average leftback. Fabio Aurelio and Marcelo will be the better options.
