Thanks for the comment Gautam. It will interesting to see how the team performs today after playing so poorly. Dunga has shown a recent willingness to make changes after such showings, and I think you'll see him shake some things up for the better.

I completely agree with Duvel. Dunga waited for 81 st minute and Brazil
could have been 2-0 down if not for Julio Caesar. Gilberto Silva as i said
shud retire gracefuly he is old and slow now and simply out of his league.
Elano and Baptista were crying needs which our boxing coach cud not figure out. And I completely agree with the observation that Robinho is slowing down the attack and he is also losing posession. Kaka was alright
we cannot expect him to carry the team on his own every time. Melo, less said about him the better it is. Santos is inexperienced but he worked hard still his defence needs improvement. Jozi seems to have watched a different match than the rest of us. What a lethargic performence in semis of a top tournament by the 5 times world champions. The only redeeming feature was the beauty free kick produced by Alves. Forget about 2010 WC with this level of performence and craetivity.

I agree that Pato would need to take Robinho's place. Luis Fabiano is an asset to the team and gives good performances generally everytime out. Robinho's inconsistency is troubling. I think Pato deserves the start in our next friendly, depending on that we could better make a set of judgments.

Interesting...but the way Dunga has built his squad, there really isn't a place for a player like Pato - almost like Carlo Ancelotti's X-mas tree, with a big striker (a la Ronaldo) up front. Pato is best as a second striker, so I'm thinking his best chance to crack into the squad is taking Robinho's spot. But Dunga seems to have a hardon for Robinho, whose useless and predictable moves annoy me.

Julio Cesar is the worlds greatest Goalkeeper. he's awesome! anyhow i also think that Ramirez and Robinho were pathetic last night. Kaka tried but just couldnt get into the game as he wished to. Joel Santana's organization of his South African players was very organized & disciplined. Gilberto Silva in my opinion was average, he did nothing fancy in the attack nor did he do something significant defensively but he kept things ticking away nicely. but Melo was simply guilty of too much turnovers!

Antihate, thanks for the comments. I agreed with what you had to say. Hopefully we will see Miranda get the nod over Luisao.

Josi, a little harsh on the comments, but its always good to get another opinion. I saw Gilberto Silva give up possession on multiple occasions. His lack of pace is one of Brazil's problems, especially in games like this where the opposing team is stacking the box. It wasn't just me that gave Gilberto Silva and Luisao those ratings. Goal.com gave comparable ones to those two players: http://www.goal.com/en/news/1863/world-cup-2010confederations-cup/2009/06/25/1346723/confederations-cup-player-ratings-brazil-1-0-south-africa

But then again they only gave Julio Cesar a 7 for his outstanding performance...

Duvel you dont know where you are talking about. How do you mean Gilberto Silva was invisible, he was all over the field breaking up attacks and spraying passes forward to robinho and kaka. I think the defenders including Luisao played extremely well. Robinho had a poor game, his problem is that he needs to learn how to shoot from distance like what rivaldo used to do. Dunga and the shooting staff needs to work on that.Yes I agree Ramirez is not the finish product but I re watched the matched and I saw how he put pressure on the defenders and also he is very quick.

Yea pretty bad. Your break down is pretty perfect. There is no distribution form the central midfield positions. Melo played miserable passes, but was ok defensively. Ramires has been great up until this game, but played TAY-REE-BLE last night! He shoudl've came out in the 55 minute. Lucio as you said was great. I think he's an amazing Center back now. He was good before but now he looks amazing. And you weren't lying about Luisao. He is the biggest liability on the field. All his tackles were fouls on Parker. That was scary watching him defend. I thought he was going to give up a PK sooner or later, but he just gave up some dangerous free kicks. And yea, now I see why people don't really have the utmost confidence in Dunga. He could've made those subs way earlier in the match and things could've changed for the better earlier. Danny Alves looked great in the 9+ minutes he played. And Anderson at Left back wasn't too bad, but he was struggling with Gaka.

Not to discount South Africa, because they brought it.

Sorry for the book.

I hope Dunga and Brazil learn from this mistake and go on to beat the pants off of the US again.
