Brazil – Venezuela Preview
Brazil v. Venezuela

It’s back to a normal, non-mile high city for the last World Cup qualifier in Campo Grande tomorrow. This is the end of a long, difficult grind the past two years, but one that was ultimately successful.
The last time these two nations played in October of ’08 Brazil easily disposed of the Venezuelans 4-0.
Before their 2-1 loss at Saturday, the Venezuelans had improved their form substantially from last October, playing themselves within striking distance of the World Cup playoff spot. This side had taken points in five straight matches before their trip to Asuncion.
They would need to beat Brazil by a substantial margin, plus have help from Chile in order to still attain fifth place. If they do accomplish this you will know the fix was on in this match to say the least. More realistically, the Venezuelans don’t really believe they have a chance to make up this goal differential, with their manager already talking about preparing for the next Copa America.
Giancarlos Maldonado of Mexican club Atlante is the leading scorer for the Venezuelans during their qualifying campaign. Brazil will need to focus on him to prevent his side from causing too much of a threat.
Although after the Bolivia match I was hoping to see a lot of new faces, Dunga has been indicating that Kaka, Luis Fabiano, and Gilberto Silva will all play tomorrow. I would love to see Sandro, Naldo, and Filipe get a look at some point during this match. All in all, this should be a much more entertaining match than the one we saw over the weekend.
Possible Starting XI: Julio Cesar, Maicon, Luisao, Naldo, Andre Santos, Josue, Gilberto Silva, Dani Alves, Kaka, Nilmar, Luis Fabiano
Prediction: 3 – 1 Brazil

Thanks for the preview. I guess Dunga wants to keep his side sharp and the chemistry intact as much as he can in advance of South Africa. That’s certainly smart, but aren’t there several friendlies between now and the World Cup that he can use to get his A side match-ready? I guess he wants to ensure we leave the qualifiers on a high note.
In light of C. Ronaldo’s injury, I bet Real Madrid is very uneasy that Kaka is playing this qualifier. Not that I care what Real Madrid thinks (I don’t follow European club football – living in America I only really pay attention to international stuff) but I wonder if they’re giving Brazil any grief.
Very interested to see how Nilmar (as opposed to Robinho) meshes with Kaka and Luis Fabiano as the heart of our attack.

the funny thing about Brazil everyone knows our weak links Ramires and Andre Santos should not be in the selecao…la liga is one of the best league in europe the coaches decided Felipe is the best left back Dunga think otherwise why i don’t know,it’s for a reason Andre Santos is playing in Turkey and Barcelona wanted Felipe, about Ramires?a crooked Diego(Juve) will be way better than this dude i just don’t get it we all see Hulk he’s not a lazy dude he always work his butt off on the field he’d perfectly fit Dunga’s team nope Dunga wants guy like Diego Tardelli,Diego Souza over Grafite,Hulk and the funn thing is how he’ll know if these dudes don’t fit his team if he never gives him a chaance to prove themselves,OK Diego got his chance he messed up but that was back in 2008 it’s been a year why not try him again who’s gonna step up for Kaka if something ever happen to Kaka? Diego’s the only dude who can be a decent maestro for the selecao we don’t have no one else,if Adriano deserve another chance (since they call him back he hasn’t done anything for the team anyway) why not Diego (Juve) by the way get rid of Adriano,Ramires,Andre Santos,Miranda,Diego Souza, Diego Tardelli…
