Comedian Bussunda dies at age 43
Brazilian comedian Bussunda has died this saturday of a heart attach in Germany. He wasn’t feeling well after a football match on Friday, didn’t want to go to the hospital, and had the stroke when he woke up today. He was in Germany to follow the Seleção on this World Cup. Surprising news indeed.
How’s this relevant news for this blog? Well, apart from probably being the most well known TV comedian in the country - he was part of the Casseta & Planeta crew - he was also a fervorous football fan, having even done some funny commentary and interview breaks between matches, and having written many articles for football newspapers, magazines and websites. And, being the heaviest of the group, he was the guy tasked as playing Ronaldo on their TV skits. He also was the “official” impersonator of Brazil’s president Lula.

His real name is Cláudio Besserman Vianna. His nickname is based on a joke: ‘Where is Sunda? What Sunda? The one who f**ked your bunda.’ Bunda meaning your rear end while Sunda would be a strange fiction name.
Bunda + Sunda = Bussunda.
Ironically he was the responsable for impersonating Ronaldo and the president Lula, both involved in that sad/comic soap opera episode.

Well, that makes sense. Better than Terra’s explanation (”Besserman” + “Sujismundo” = “Bessermundo” -> “Bussunda”). I guess Terra’s one is the family version.

I was shocked when I got the news just after Portugal’s match. I though it was one of his jokes. I can’t realized it as real yet.

I did not know him, but can imagine what a great guy he was for the country. Rest in peace.
Could the team wear black armbands tomorrow?
