Death Threat to Scolari?
I hope he can live to see Portugal advancing at least to the quarter finals this year. I’m joking, of course. He is not going to be murdered. He is a nice guy, who would harm him? But I read the Yahoo Sports article about that and I think it’s funny. What do you think? Did Big Phil give up because of death threats (from Portuguese fans) or because England’s crazy FA and more crazy media were too much for a normal family man like him?
I heard someone saying “If he can’t handle the media pressure, he is not right for the job”. My answer to this is: If you can handle the tabloids madness, you are the weak one. Why on Earth do the English people buy that garbage? Some newspaper tried the same here, but nobody cared and they faded away. Of course we have gossip magazines for the idiots, but they don’t have the acceptance and power that England’s papers have. In the article you will see that McClaren was exposed in ‘The Sun’ because of an affair with a secretary, even after being away from his wife for a whole year. Pure sh*ty press.
The utterly truth is that the English FA were in the middle of a power struggle between Brian Barwick (chief executive of the FA) and David Dein (vice-chairman of Arsenal). Dein sits on the board of the Football Association and he was vice-chairman of the FA from 2000 to 2004. David wanted Scolari and got a nice lobby to achieve that, while Brian wanted an English coach. If Scolari should accept the job, David would get power to become the FA chairman.
Conclusion: Scolari smelled that he was being used, and all the stinking mess exploded in their faces. Now any coach to take over will resent that they are just the second choice. The FA looks like a teenager who got dumped by the pretty girlfriend, disoriented and humiliated. I wonder why the international press is ignoring this fact. Did ‘The News of the World’ expose this? I doubt that.

[...] Is England our number one problem this year? According to Jack, from ‘Vital Football’ web site they are. Well, I’m not very fond of gambling of any kind, but he seemed to be proud to be second best at the betting scale. Ok, I can dig that because I went trough many betting sites and they all have England at the second position. Germany, Argentina, Italy and France are shifting from third to sixth positions. Is it a clear view of the reality or is it a twisted vision created by the media madness ruling England? [...]

England’s press is utterly appalling, as Simon Cowell loves to say. How can they fail to read between the lines when it’s so clear to the rest of the world???

Champions Juventus, AC Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina
could be relegated from Serie A and forced out of European
competition if found guilty.
