Dunga Calls Fábio Simplício

0013729e4a600a9ed05e01Palermo midfielder Fábio Simplício was called to national team today. He replaces Ramires who is out with a muscle injury. Fábio Simplício is a nice player, but I can’t help to think that this spot should have gone to Diego, Sandro, or Hernanes. I just cannot see Fábio being a member of the World Cup squad, which should be the only thing Dunga should be thinking about at this point.

I will have the preview of the upcoming England match this Wednesday. Below is the England squad that manager Fabio Capello called:

Goalkeepers
Ben Foster, Robert Green, Joe Hart.

Defenders
Wayne Bridge, Wes Brown, Gary Cahill, Glen Johnson, Joleon Lescott, John Terry, Matthew Upson, Stephen Warnock.

Midfielders
Gareth Barry, Michael Carrick, Tom Huddlestone, Jermaine Jenas, Frank Lampard, James Milner, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Ashley Young.

Forwards
Darren Bent, Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe, Wayne Rooney.

Sandro, Hernanes and others in Brazil were not going to be called because of the final rounds of Brasileirao, but this just doesn’t make any sense.

there’s something going on with this “Diego issue”,i mean how you’re going to skip Diego for Ramires now Fabio Simplicio no disrespect to the latter is way better than Ramires but not on Diego’s level.is Diego becoming “the Cassano of the selecao”? that is weird Dunga called up 3 injured players
Robinho,Doni,Juan;if Brazil plays badly i know the brazilian press is going to get him for that,it seems like he’s slow,it took Dunga an eternity to realize that we have way better leftbacks than Gilberto,Andre Santos…now we might have to wait awhile before he finally understand that Diego is the closest guy who can step up in case something happens to Kaka hopefully it won’t be after June 11,2010

Not England’s best team either. No Gerrard or Ferdinand.

ok, you may not agree, but it is so simple to understand the diego issue. the 08 Olymics doomed that entire group of players.

you know what i think you’re right about that,Lucas is the only survivor of this team,i don’t know why Dunga kept him anyway? Hernanes is way better since most of these guys are young, they have another shot in 5 years in 2014

And Lucas is just returning now…it is his last chance, for sure.

Let’s hope that it is, Bruno.

Lucas is way too slow and soft. As defensive midfielder he is not as aggressive as Javier Mascherano. Some said his playing like Andrea Pirlo. Sorry to tell you that he is no where near Pirlo now.

Andrea Pirlo is a genuis, as a Milan fan I can testify to that. Please do not offend such a brilliant midfielder by comparing him to a clueless Lucas. And I don’t know what Dunga is thinking calling up the likes of Simplicio, Lucas, Elano while repeatably snubbing Diego, Thiago Silva and Pato.

I saw a post on goal.com’s forum that Dunga has in fact called Thiago Silva up for the England match. I’ve never visited that forum before; I have no idea if it’s accurate or not. Anyone know?

Lucas has improved a hell of alot this season. He’s alot physically stronger this season and I have changed my opinion about him. Personally I think he deserves this chance.
