Finally…Felipe Melo Moves to Juve

I’ve been holding off a new post waiting for Felipe Melo’s situation to clear up. Ever since his call up to the national team, he has been linked with moves to a bigger club. The past two weeks saw him linked to Arsenal and Juventus. Finally, tonight we can confirm that Felipe Melo will join Diego next season in Turin.

He joins Juventus in exchange for Marco Marchionni and €21 million, a stunning valuation for a player who only emerged as a marquee name this year. I think Juve might have overpaid a bit, however they get a very good defensive midfielder. You heard more and more commentators stating that Felipe Melo was one of the best at his position. They have put themselves in position to challenge Inter for the scudetto this season with their big moves this summer. This move essentially guarantees that Felipe Melo will be playing Champions League football for the indefinite future.

Another quick note…we could see Luis Fabiano move to AC Milan any day now. It would be great to see him and Pato play together, which is the combo up top I would like to see get a chance at some point.

Juve’s team will be much better next season

Del Piero Iaquanita
Camronesi Diego Melo Giovinco/Marchisio
Grgera Cannavaro Chilleni Molinaro
Buffon

Subs Amauri etc

Both Juve and Milan need to adapt to beat Inter. I feel sorry for Milan. Cissokho and Dzeko would help them greatly but both deals fell through :(

With all due respect, I don’t think that lineup wouldn’t work. Its got one extra player, and Andre Santos shouldn’t play center back when you got so many other options at that position. If you put Alex in for him, and took out Ronaldinho, it would be better.

Oops! Haha. i agree with replacing Santos with Alex; but, and maybe I am stubborn, I cannot accept the idea that Ronaldinho doesn’t have it in him to get back most of the way to his form of just 2 or 3 years ago. How about:
Fabiano Pato
Kaka Ronaldinho Robinho
Alves Alex Lucio Melo Maicon
Cesar

Thanks for the comment guindage. I would watch that Brazil-Ecuador match in Quito again. In my opinion, thats basically the match that got Ronaldinho off the national team. I know its just one match, but great players never have a beyond awful match like that.
