How polite is TOO polite?
Here in Brazil most people don’t have that Japanese level of manners. Most people live with very little money and a lot of them didn’t go to school, so I can’t blame them. But when it comes to the World Cup, you’ll see people with money acting like they came from slums.
I’m not like that. This is one thing I dislike about Brazilian fans. How difficult is it to take your trash when you leave the venue? I specially hate when it happens outside the stadium (aka anywhere else in the city). Why can’t people understand that we should live in a clean city? The metropolitan area of Rio has more than 9 million people. Imagine all this crowd leaving papers and plastic on the ground!!! And, most of all, I like clean sand when I go to our beaches. The Carioca people (Carioca = born in Rio) should know better!!! But, at least, it’s getting better. Everyday people are more aware of the issue and public TV campaigns are fighting this problem.
I know that the Japanese fans got yellow-carded for being neat, but I wouldn’t mind this kind of example to spread to the rest of the world, including Brazil. Red card to the slobs!!!
