Well, I hope Hillary wins then.

I have this Fifa 06 game to cheer me up before the World Cup, but IT'S TOO COMPLICATED to play! My God! I need a personal trainer to play that.

Thanks for the comment Lupa!

Bill can't run again but his wife can. My vote goes with Bruce Arena. Anyone who can get the US to the quarterfinals of the WC should be able to run a country.

Cheer up Euler. 63 days before the fun begins.

I think that because of Bush most people don't like USA so much these days. Even in Brazil, one of the most neutral countries I know, the unfair rules for the formation of ALCA are showing the evil side of our old ally. The war over oil and terror is on display now. That's a shame.

I hope Bill Clinton runs again. I'm sorry to bring such a nasty subject on this fine blog, but your comment triggered a sudden sadness here.

I don't think it will harm the sport if Brazil wins 2006... It is just at most boring but its not gonna kill it.

Actually more people will be upset if the US wins the World Cup, something almost anyone not American would not like, especially folks in the Middle East, Europe, and Latin America.

First, if USA Basketball team wins, it is not bad for sport, so why if Brazil wins it is?
This is tempers it of the sport, the challenge!
Without the challenge, we do not have competition!

What? Lose? We are 170 millions coaches. Every cup is the one. No matter if we won 5, 6 or 7 times, we all lose our fingernails.

Thanks guys! It's nice to read your comments. The 1994 final against Italy was really some kind of a faliure to Brazilians, but the Baggio's shame became our salvation. I believe that we played better, but that's not enough, naturally

I agree that if the world is going to have a dominant team it might as well be one that is fun to watch. The exception to that rule of course is the 1994 final which was about as dull as watching Oliver Kahn brush his teeth.

Still, bring on a new champ this year!

You're absolutely right, Euler. The World Cup has got to be the toughest team competition to win. And football one of those games where a team can dominate for 90 minutes and still lose in injury time.

People are expecting Brazil to win, but if they don't it won't exactly be an upset either. There are a number of other teams that are legitimate chances to win the World Cup and every World Cup produces results that are unexpected. To win it all teams need luck as much as skill.

Either way, a tournament with Brazil playing well is much better than a tournament without them. I can't wait to see them play.
