Kaka and Juninho after the Practice
KAKA
Kaka talked with the press: “Parreira gives me and Ronaldinho total freedom to change positions, left or right is not important to us. He asks us to help the defense all the time and one of the strikers too. This is very important and Parreira enforces that all the time.”
Reporters wanted to see if he was happy with the high score: “We must analyse our position in the field, not the final score of a practice game. We can’t compare a national team with a club, it would not be fair.”
Still trying to get a polemical statement they asked about being overshadowed by greatest stars: “We all know our responsabilities in the team so it’s not important who’s the biggest star here. Every player of the team is great in their teams and equally important in our tactic. Anyway it is always a privilege to play for the Seleção even knowing that the game was not important.”
About the older players: “Every team should look for the balance between youth and experience, and Brazil has exactly that.”
JUNINHO PERNAMBUCANO
I heard Juninho talking to the reporters: “We have many options and that will be an important differential for our team. The ambient is very important inside the field. Here, even the biggest stars are focused on helping others to get the result for the team.”
About to be a starter he was very diplomatic: “Everybody I am ready to play, but we have a good team and we will work to be ready and to help. I don’t know if the quartet is unstoppable, the important thing is the collective result. I am ready to be part of the quartet, but we must get results with a quartet or a trio, whatever. The whole team is important.”
He scored a fantastic goal in a freekick: “In the freekick you must be very focused. At least 80% of a successful kick is in the concentration, and I always practice these freekicks.”
One important thing that the Lucerne practice told us, and what Juninho said is a reflection of that, is that Brazil has more than 11 good players. Many of the guys in the bench could be starters too. That’s one thing I always talk about. We can have those 11 starters and then substitute them during a match without losing quality.
