Live Training… 1st time!
Do you know what am I watching on TV now? Our team is being shown live on TV training! Is it normal? They are just warming up. Weggis, the Swiss city that is hosting our team, have only 3.000 inhabitants, but the crowd present in the event have 5.000 people. I don’t remember being able to watch their training live like this in other World Cups. That’s cool!
Not only inside the (little) stadium are people gathered to watch, but many fans are surrounding the area finding spots to get a glance of the players. The players are smiling, and running all around. They surely seem to be younger than before. Their souls are lighter than in the European competitions.
Soon they will begin the training match, and I hope they will air that too. It’s amazing the number of reporters and cameras lined up near the pitch. A local TV station compared this cast with the Beatles. Such a crowd screaming out their names, so many people surrounding their hotel, the comparison is deserved. Exaggerated, of course, but deserved.
I saw a quick interview with some players before entering the pitch. Roberto Carlos said that this was a very important moment in his life because it will be his last World Cup… “or not, who knows”. That is what I call a profound optimist. If people find him old now, can you imagine four years in the future?
Now they are gathered in a corner… maybe they will start their match soon. I don’t know how can they train with such screaming fans. I’m starting to feel a headache just to hear it on TV, I can’t imagine hearing your name being called one million times at all times.
The training expected now is a soft one, with some tactical instructions and many technical commandds. The teams are set and they are keeping the ball on the move. It’s a fast pass training. More information about it later.

I am watching the same thing. Lots of people around the training grounds on the hills.
I hope the Croatian camp is watching this.

Amazing to watch this. Can’t believe we can see them train. Very cool!

I agree! I can’t believe either! Very cool! Don’t let Croatia see this!!!

Where are you guys watching it? What channel? Is it cable? Here I’m watching in SporTV a cable channel. I’m curious.

The goalkeepers are shooting penalties very well! He he!

I am watching on satellite. The channel is Record and the program is DebateBola. I liked seeing Ronaldo making funny faces at the camera and I also wonder if they are drinking FIFA sanctioned drinks during breaks.
I just wish I could understand more. Brazilian Portuguese is more difficult for me to understand because of the accent and speed of talking. They are talking about Croatia every now and then.

Now I am watching Ney Franco talk to media in a rainy Rio on Globo. The world at my fingertips.

That’s not fair at all! I can’t watch your team training!

[...] Finally, there is Brazil. We’ve already reported about the efforts of the Swiss town where they are training to remove the stench of pigs. But did you know that millions of people around the world are watching Brazil train live on television? Aragones is probably not one of them considering the colors that Brazil wears, but you can bet the broadcasts are being followed closely by a few folks in Croatia, Australia and Japan. I just read that Parreira is threatening to leave Weggis if the crowds do not settle down. He says it is really distracting to have the whole town, plus some cheering every time a player touches the ball.

Damn, you boys get all the fun.

Yes, Parreira said that he they have a plan B in case they can’t have peace there, but I don’t think it will be the case for now. People there were only cheering peacefully. Loud but peacefully. The problem is when they are harassed by the violent crowd. I think they will be confortable for some time before changing plans.
Hey Ana! Thanks a lot!!! You’re making me blush! Please keep commenting!
