[...] That’s great news for Amy Lawrence from The Guardian, but little does she know that Parreira is cool with it too. It’s not hard to understand his position. Ronaldo will have 3 weeks to heal and rest. The bad news for Amy and Bobby is that Parreira is not worried about Adriano or Ronaldo at this point. In his mind, 3 weeks is more than enough to get the Seleção tuned up for the competition. I don’t really know if that’s true or if he is simply trying to convince himself about it, but in an interview for Globo newspaper he said it will be all right. [...]

[...] After Bobby McMahon from Fox Sports has read one of my posts, I started to be more aware and careful of what I was writing about. World Cup Blog radar-man Bob sent me an article from Amy Lawrence of The Observer. Before any typing, I started to look for information about her. Well, not only she is a beautiful woman but she also is a major football expert. Her article predicts heavy storms for the Seleção. [...]

Again you love to say that ARG won BRA in qualifying, but always forget that we won ARG at the same qualifying competition, BUT (anyway) you win Todd, Argentina is going to win this year. Congrats!!! Now keep in mind that Argentina is the new favorite team. I'm glad this weight is out of our shoulders. Our European legion is tired, fat and ugly and we will lose. Now can you chill out a little?

Just remember I'm not the one saying that we will win. Maradona and Beckenbauer started this trend. I'm the one trying to dismiss this favoritism factor.

You want Argentina to be the favorites? Please be my guest!

Let me give you two reasons that Brasil will not win the World Cup. Riquelme and Messi. Brasil may have the best player in the world in Rohnaldino but Argentina now have number 2 and 3 plus a lot better defense than Brasil. Messi has skyrocketed to the top and with his speed up front and Tevez and Aimar as well I think that Brasils slowness at defender will be exposed. I know that you are going to say well what about the confederations cup? That was a B team with argentina and nothing more then an experiment by Pekerman to try out some new defenders but when Argentina put Heinze, Sorin, Ayala, and Zanetti back there they will be solid. Go ahead keep thinking it is a slam dunk but I think that we all know which team is the most talented this world cup. Just be glad you have Rohnaldino or or you would for sure not be the favorite. I am sure that the Argentine players are realishing the fact that all of the pressure is on Brasil. Suerte!

Have any of you seen a Milan game this season? Dida has been awful and cost Milan a handful of points. He was terrible again in the Milan-Lyon game yesterday as well. As for Julio Cesar, he has lost his starting job to Francesco Toldo at Inter. I haven't seen Rogerio Ceni except for the World Club Championship and he looked good, but the only decent team he faced was Liverpool.

As for Cafu and Roberto Carlos, they do well to get forward, but they have never been the strongest defenders and have been getting slower

That said, Brazil is still the best team on the planet and should win. They are easily the most talented and fun to watch but I would not be surprised if they didn't win.

Hey Euler, I don't know what McMahon was thinking especially his comment about Brasil's goatenders?? I can't remember Brasil ever had so much talent and depth in goal.. You know what it is. Because Brasil has this great talent pool at every position, a myth has been around that they are weak in goal? It's never been that case but for some reason this myth prevails.. Strange.

Hi Euler, I believe Brazil is going to be the number 1 favorite for the world cup. But not only for the game itself but also for its fans. I could need some support from you. See my webpage and if you like it tell your readers about it. I believe it's really funny to see the poster growing. I hope it gets full until the final - I'd love to see coloful fans face to face united on one poster. Hope seeing you too. Cheers, Mike
