My (very) Unusual Sunday
While Felipe Massa got his first podium at F1 and Zidane was saying ‘adiou’ to Real Madrid’s fans I was having a very unusual day. Can you imagine performing at TV live for more than 30 million people? There I was at Globo, the greatest TV station in Brazil, in one of the most popular Sundays afternoons shows with my band playing the guitar with a big smile in my face. The name of the band is Mané Sagaz.
After that our web site got crazy stats and we recieved an avalanche of e-mails and messages in our Orkut’s community. I went to the news stand to buy a magazine and they said “Hey! I saw you at Faustão!”. New venues are popping and it may be a new era for the band. By the way, you can download some songs at our site: www.manesagaz.com.

But this is a World Cup blog, right? So let’s move on to some football issues, like food. The Brazilian team is travelling to Germany with a great deal of Brazilian treats. Newspaper says there will be 200 kilos of manioc flour, 100 kilos of black beans, 100 kilos of ‘goiabada cascão’ and 100 kilos of dried meat. The list is already being sent to Switzerland and Germany to avoid the 1994 American episode, when all the dried meat was apprehended and incinerated.
Goiabada Cascão is a a kind of candy made from the guava fruit. Goes very well with cheese.

Cool photo (and Story!), Euler.

Thanks Trent! It’s all true! After the show I met with good friends to drink and celebrate (in this order). I’m still floating a little!
Thanks again!

Sweet. I am always interested in more samba sounds, although I haven’t listened to yours yet.
I will have to pass on the Goiabada though, never was my favorite. Guarana on the other hand, I wish I had a tap on my desk at work!
