Nilmar to Villarreal

July 24th, 2009 | By: Duvel | 2 Comments »

It continues to be a busy week for current and future national team players. Today it was annouced that Nilmar will head to Villarreal for €11 million on a 5 year deal. It was a club record transfer fee. He should start for the club, with Joseba Llorente and Jonathan Pereira being in the mix as well. Internacional was in a position to sell him, with the sensational Walter waiting in the wings to take Nilmar’s spot. They would not spend this type of money for a player to sit on the bench. This is a great opportunity for Nilmar to progress his career. The Yellow Submarine is always one of the top clubs in Spain and should compete for a Champions League spot this season.

Good move. Villarreal will benefit off him is he can score goals like that and help them get Champion’s League football. There were rumours on the internet yesterday that the AC Milan website showed that they had acquired Rossi off Villarreal but, then, they disappeared immediately. Could be all hype but, could be a mistake by Milan by announcing the deal before it was completed. Hopefully Rossi does not move as him and Rossi together would be lethal.
