One More Big Moment

Behind the ScenesIt’s great to see how many people are reading this blog. An event such as the World Cup surely deserves a world wide gathering of opinions like we have here. We get many positive messages about our efforts to represent our country and at the same time we must endure some fanatics calling us names and cursing our flag. That’s important! I’ve learned a lot here about Croatia, Trinidad & Tobago and many other countries I usually have very little contact.

Tomorrow we’ll meet Ghana. I believe we can win. My prediction is 3:2 Brazil and many friends will come to my apartment to watch the match with me. It will be midday here and we will all be drunk by 14:00h ( no matter what the outcome is). As Zé already reported, Robinho will not play, unfortunately. I can only hope Juninho will be there.

I got an e-mail from Ricky Engelberg calling my attention to some Nike videos available at the internet. Hey, man! Thank you!!! I saw some of them and I believe it is worth watching. It is mostly behind the scenes images recorded by the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) and it has some funny moments, like the players suffering under the Russian cold temperature (video #2 “Rob.C: Jesus!”).

All videos are cool, but after the Joga Bonito Nike TV campaign it can get you tired to see more hype about our team. It is good visual info for most Brazilians but it can damage the Seleção image even more after Cantona’s effort to sell Nike products. In video # 7 you can have an idea of what does it mean to be the target of that kind of campaign.

After saying that, I hope Brazil can defeat any over-hype and blind favoritism left after the Japan match and keep it humble on the pitch tomorrow. I don’t think it will be any different than that; Parreira is a very experienced man after all. Only Roberto Carlos seems to be still more confident than he should. He and his big mouth should stay at the bench.

The big moment is near! It is time to focus our minds deep in the great Brazilian football history. We have lost many times, but we have won more than most. Let’s pay respect to our opponent one more time and hope that our players perform the best they can do. Is Brazil ready? What we’ll Ghana do? Stay tuned! May the best team win!! May the best be Brazil!!!

There are much more people on the Argentina Blog, you think you’re the best but that’s because of the FIFA and NIKE who make you win because they invested money in you.

VAMOS ARGENTINA !

Oi Euler!

Boa sorte com o Gana / Good luck dude!

If POR passes ENG and you pass Ghana and Spain or France, it’d be a POR vs BRA semi… :-)

Anatoliy: wait, if Ghana will beat Brazil 3-1, how can Brazil still face Ukraine on the finals and lose 7-0? There’s something wrong on your predictions…

Brazil is definitely beatable. Ghana were in and around the box all day. Brazil was forced to defend and score on the their counter attacks. If it were not for poor finishing by Ghana and an obvious off-side goal it may have been a different result. Brazil have the best strikers in the world but your defence is very weak. Be careful against France, if Zidane is on his game Brazil may be in some big trouble. My theory is that FIFA does not want Brazil to win again because then they have to give them the trophy and they don’t want to buy another one.. Ha Ha Ha.

Thank you Dan! You’re funny! If you were here reading more posts you would see my pictures and videos I made during the World Cup.

Many times my little flag appeared as being from Australia. Now is it Romania’s? I can’t say because I never see any flag at the end of my comments, unfortunately. I don’t know why this happens anyway, so I can’t fix it.

Keep commenting Dan! It is rare to have someone from Romania around here!

Here, take a look at my photo website! I am the one holding the ESPN microphone!!!

today is one of the saddest days in world cup history, our number one star team lost to France and the sad thing is that it wasnt even due to penalty shots, but poor defense from brasil’s part. Maybe it was the overconfidence after years of success, but either way we lost. Although im hardly a fan of the french team i must admit they really gave it thier all today. the ball was almost alwyas with them! People trashed Ronaldo as being too fat or slow but lets not forget the goals he scored in the last games. Soccer for me will never be the same again, my star team is gone. I dont want Germany to win, but I might root for Italy. I might also just forget about soccer altogther. Im devastated. Soccer will never be the same again and the world cup to me has ended.
Goodbye to the years of unbeatable glory. but i still love my players, i just wished the coach put adriano on or someone passed the goal more to ronaldinio.im going to go cry now bye
