Party Mood? Caipirinha!
If your team goes home early and Ronaldinho starts to shine, maybe you’ll want to sit on the couch with a yellow and green flag. So here is a hint for improving your Brazilian experience: Caipirinha.
This drink is one of Brazil’s trade marks. Whenever you see tourists here, the Caipirinha is near. They may seem to be going sightseeing, but they’re in fact looking for more Caipirinha. It’s 3 times the price of a beer in a bar, normally, but you don’t drink as fast. It gives you the right buzz without that bladder problem that will push you away from the TV on the exact moment emperor Adriano is scoring the most important goal of the day. And that cute girl you wanted to find a good excuse to hug will probably hug another guy. So, to avoid these beer problems here is the recipe for our world renowned Caipirinha.
All you need is a lemon, ice cubes, vodka, a straw and a little sugar. Cut the lemon’s top and bottom, and then in 4 parts. Remove the white part in the center of the lemon to avoid sour flavor. Put them in a medium glass and smash the lemon with a spoon or a grain crusher or with an old-fashioned muddler. Add a little sugar. Just a little, because it’s nasty when it gets too sweet. I like to use 4 drops of sweetener. Fill the glass with ice cubes. Now fill the empty spaces with vodka. You can put all in a shaker and shake it to dissolve the sugar and to cool the mixture. Or you can just put another glass upside down on top of it and use it like a shaker. It’s ready. Use a straw to drink it. If you find Cachaça (most typical Brazilian spirits) you can replace the vodka with it.
Don’t drink too much! It’s strong and that cute girl may leave you for someone that still can drive. Caipirinha is the perfect drink to get you in a cool and seducing Brazilian party mood.

Oh yeah, I love Caipirinha. Nothing better than being on the beach with football on the tube and a cold one of those in your hand.
