Alex of International, Mancini (Inter) who needs severe playing time elsewhere and Diego are players Dunga should be grooming and intergrating as second choice, and overtime permanent potential replacements to Ronaldinho after 2010. R10 isnt the same anymore even though he was great againts Italy i think next years W.C should be his last chance as a brazil regular and #10. the players i mentioned above would be much better partners to Kaka who in my opinion must be calling the shots and carrying our attack

Josue is definately a waste of space. @Bruno even though Hernanes has done extremely well at Sao Paolo he didnt impress me much at the Olympics, and I also think he is too attack minded to ever become real effective as Melo’s partner if Gilberto ever leaves. as for Ramirez, he’s good but just like Denilson can afford to wait. Elano is really one player of our midfield i admire, he always seems to play his best football with Brazil so it pains me to see his sad state of affairs in City.

Alex (Inter-RS)
Hernanes (Sao Paulo)
Ramirez (Cruzeiro)

Hernanes and Ramirez should be starters in the national team. Not even bench.

Regarding the two defensive midfielders, I think there are two reasons for this. The first is that this is something that Dunga’s former coach Carlos Alberto Parreira liked, who played Ze Roberto, Emerson, and Gilberto Silva in various combinations in Germany. The second reason is concern about the back four, especially Juan and Lucio. That concern is legitimate, but you need the appropriate talent to stick in the midfield to compensate. Denilson and Felipe Melo MAY be that, we won’t know until we get to see them play together. I would like to see Alex get an opportunity again in the central defense as he has seen consistent minutes the past two months at Chelsea.

I’ve always thought it was odd that Dunga wants to play two defensive midfielders. Especially because that’s arguably the one position where Brazil lacks quality in depth.

Would it not be possible to have just one defensive mid, and free up space to play the many many attacking mids (Kaka, Ronaldinho, Diego etc) that Brazil has?
