Ronaldinho Fit to Play

February 6th, 2006 | By: Euler Costa | 1 Comment »

To win a World Cup must be very important to any player. To bring the trophy back to Brazil is a dream that our players have in their minds either awake or sleeping. One nice proof of that is Ronaldinho’s workout program. He has a personal trainer to keep him fit. Our FA (CBF) has its own training commission as any other team, but they didn’t know anything about this issue.

He has been playing footvolley. This sport was created in Brazil and is mostly seen at beach volley courts. It is played like beach volleyball but without touching your arms or hands. One must have very good control of the ball to play this game. Romario plays it all the time.

Ronaldinho is playing very early or very late, of course, since he is a big star. Here in Rio we are used to see some great stars playing. One day I was walking by Ipanema beach and a footvolley competition was going on. I didn’t give much attention at that time but there were a little crowd there. Suddenly I heard the announcer calling the players to the next game. Zico was going to play! Of course I ran towards the crowd and saw him playing. Amazing! Too bad at that time there were no digital cameras.

I won’t be surprised if I find out that other players are going to follow Ronaldinho’s example.
