Ronaldo should look up to Roberto Carlos
The Real Madrid situation is bad mojo for Ronaldo these days. In his last Real Madrid’s game I watched, he didn’t seem to be in the same field as the other players. It was like he was in some Twilight Zone episode, where he is the only one in slow motion. He seemed to be lonely among the other 21 players. What’s going on? No wonder he didn’t play against Atletico.
Roberto Carlos, at the other hand, played an important role to the team’s victory, not only he served a nice pass to Cassano score within 3 minutes of the game but he also was “a constant danger” during all the game. And that was soon after the exhausting trip to Moscow.
Mister Big Mouth Pele recently said that Ronaldo should take more care of his personal life, because it is affecting his footballer career. I don’t like to judge people’s personal affairs, but Ronaldo seems to have forgotten his past and his roots. I was watching Rogerio Ceni on TV saying that to play in the Selection is the dream for every player, but the real focus must be the club team, because his good work there is what will eventually get him to the World Cup. Maybe the fact that Ronaldo already knows he surely will be a starter for Brazil is the reason why he lost his club motivation.
Roberto knows that too but, unlike Ronaldo, he is being a true professional, fighting to the end for his side. The game against Russia was a good opportunity for Ronaldo to lift his motivation, but he froze with the Moscow “grass”. Now the Spanish media is crushing Ronaldo in such way that got me thinking if he will be with his mind in peace, with his soul intact, with samba in his heart enough to play for us. I know he still have the potential to amaze the world once again, but it’s up to him. Roberto Carlos is there to set the example.
