Scolari Deal

Brazilians are proud of Portugal’s coach “Big Phil”. We’ve been exporting talents for some time now, but the Sven issue didn’t seem to reach our collective minds. I don’t know if there was too little coverage from our press or if the other teams are just less important to most of us to generate a real opinion about that. I believe that it IS a big deal.

But I can also understand when the English people demand an English coach. It would be unacceptable for us to have a foreign coach also. In this case it would be great to read the opinion of the English people. Sometimes when I read about their considerations, I fear they are just ethnic-phobic, but I believe most people are just nationalists.

I was wondering… why does a Brazilian teams hire foreign players? I still don’t really know the answer, but it kind of hurts our pride. We are the cradle of all those amazing players… so why do we have an Argentinean player being great in our championship?

All I can say about this Sven situation is this: Scolari and Sven are moving only after the World Cup is finished, so all this worries could be left over to August. Now, let’s allow Sven do his job for a while. Shall we?
