Swiss City Shows Brazil the Money

The rich get richer.

The Swiss city of Weggis will pay Brazil US$2 million to train their in the weeks leading up to the World Cup. In addition to getting a free stay at a luxurious hotel, Brazil will also practice at a $1.1 million training facility built specifically for the team.

Alas, Brazil won’t get a total free ride. It will have to pay for its hotel accomodations in Germany. Given the soaring hotel rates during the World Cup that $2 million might come in handy after all.

The title of this post is fine, but when you say “the rich gets richer” I wonder if you’re talking about the Swiss. If Brazil is getting money for their presence, imagine what the Swiss are gaining from the marketing. The name of the hotel is now worldwide famous, and so forth. Nowadays nobody pays anything just for the good will. If they’re paying 2 mil, they are expecting huge profits.
