The Possible Kaka Move and Some Other Notes

I have purposefully been waiting to type a new post hoping that there would be some official news on Kaka, which there has not been. Spanish and Italian media outlets were reporting last week that this was a done deal, and that Kaka would be moving to Real Madrid. Zinedine Zidane, who is now a member of the Madrid front office, is claiming this is a done with a press conference scheduled for Monday.

With anything involving Real Madrid I don’t believe it until I see it. This is not the first time Kaka has been “on the verge of a move.” Last summer it was their pursuit of Cristiano Ronaldo. The transfer fee has been report to be in the neighbourhood of €65 million. Only when I read on the front page of AC Milan’s website that he is gone, will I recognize the transfer.

Speaking of AC Milan, they have parted ways with long time manager Carlo Ancelotti, and replaced him with 90’s Brazilian playmaker Leonardo. Leonardo had been a director for the club previous to this move. He is promising a more attacking and open style of play in Milan. Dunga has stated this move could rejuvenate the career of Ronaldinho, who languished on the bench at Milan during the Ancelotti era. Hopefully Leonardo will have control over the club’s transfers and be given the resources to bring in his type of players or else this will be a short coaching debut.

Finally, Cruzeiro 25-year-old forward Kleber has been tipped to join Liverpool, as Rafa Benitez continues to look for a successful pairing with Fernando Torres up top. Kleber has scored 3 goals early in this campaign.

I will post the Paraguay preview after this Sunday, along with a recap of the Uruguay match Saturday night.

If Kaka moves to Real Madrid. I can see a revoultion starting there. If Kaka moves I feel that Franck Ribery of Bayern Muchen will join as he will be able to see that Perez is starting a new Galatico Era. With Ribery, Kaka on the same team. I can only see Ronaldo joining as he has done everything with United. I could of only seeing him stay if he won the Champion’s League again and he failed at that conquest. I can see Robben staying after an impressive season and after they thumped out 20+ million off him to buy him off Chelsea. Also, Higuain should stay. Then, they would buy a new striker. I am seeing them hijack Barcelona’s bid for Ibrahimovic. However, David Villa sees an easier capture. There defence was their weakpoint this season. Garay should arrive next season and Marcelo should stay so LB and one CB position is sorted. Cannavaro has left and Heinze isn’t up to scratch. Two defenders should appear ike Raul Abilol off Valencia. I can only see a move to Real Madrid would help Kaka and help him win major trophies again. If they do not get Ronaldo they will get David Silva off Valencia. If Real succeed in recreating the Galaticos. It will be very interesting how they play against the top team of Europe.

If Kaka leaves it will be good news for Milan in a way and Ronaldinho. Ronaldinho has struggled to play alongside Kaka recently and this is why he was put on the bench. The way Milan play did not suit his style and the promise of a more attacking style of Leonardo will help him greatly. Now that Kaka might be going he can take the lead role of playmaker. And with the money off Kaka they can buy players anfd take an againg team into the 21st century.

I agree Joel that this could be the start of a new Galatica Era. With Valencia in a dire financial situation, you could see all of their best coming over. Xabi Alonso could make the move from Liverpool. I know Samuel might not like the move, but AC Milan could really re-tool their team with this cash, and might be better off in all of this as a result.
