I totally agree that Zico and Socrates were like superheros and they were in the greatest Seleção ever to not win the Cup. You probably remember Zico's shirt too, right?

[...] You know, now that everyone is following Euler’s lead, I can not be left out! I did write a list, but it was my Brazil list (I am a big fan of Brazil). But after reading Mexico, Croatia, Portugal, and Paraguay write their own team’s top 5 memories, I can not let Team Melli drag behind! [...]

[...] Over at Brazil’s blog page, Euler has gone down memory lane and shared with us his top 5 WC moments. His memories all include Brazil and the highs and lows they have experienced. This has got me thinking; with Croatia being such a young country and not having the pedigree of Brazil or some of the other soccer great nations ,do I write about only ‘Vatreni’s’ moments or do I include my top memories of WC in general. [...]

Thanks for the comments guys! I wrote this piece because it is one of my curiosities... Brazil has a winning history in WCs so most people can remember my moments, but it would be nice to read the other coutries side of the matter.

In my top 5 great memories, 3 were bad and 2 were good, unfortunately.

I'd like to ask other bloggers to name their top 5 WC memories too. It will be a delight to read the recent World Cup history behind the eyes of the real fans, other than the cold official's reports.

That came in 1986 is the first game I recall watching in my live. I was 5. There was 48 people standing in my living room, 3 of them was sitting at the coffee table. Most Brazilian want the reveange for France after 98. For me, this game in 86 is the one who is stay sticke in my throat.

The latest defeat to URSS in the 88 Olympic Game is the another unforgettable moment to me.
