Who should we fear?

Since 1930 there were only 7 different champions, so the main contenders seem to belong to this elite group.

- Germany is possibly the strongest team that we can face. Not only they have tradition but they are playing to their crowd.

- England seems to be playing well also and they have world class players like Beckham and Owen.

- I must say Argentina, even after we stomped their team 4:0 in Confederation’s Cup final. They are always trouble, mainly because of their violent style.

- Italy has a great national league. They have Vieri, Totti, Toni, Pierro and tradition. The fans are very fanatic and will probably fill up the stadiums too.

- France has a bad taste in their mouth since after the ‘magnifique’ 98 came the 02 ‘merde’. Zidane, Henry and his mates are probably blood thirsty.

The exceptions are Uruguay and the Netherlands. Uruguay won the first World Cup in 1930 and then they’ve beaten us in our greatest temple, Maracanã, in 1950. But after that it didn’t do much. On the other hand we have the Dutch team. They have talent amongst their tactis and can be a surprise.

All other teams can win too, of course, but it is as likely as to find a Japanese with curled hair. Or as easy as finding a blond person in Sweden, of course, since this sport is unpredictable, some times. I’m hoping Brazil gets to the final match and it would be very cool if Germany got there too. A super rematch in front of a huge crowd!!! How exiting that would be!?!?

Czech Republic. They will have lots of fans there and a dangerous team. The thing to remember is that European teams always win the World Cup when it is played in Europe so that will make it very tough for Brazil and Argentina

We won at Sweden in 1958. But it was a long time ago, I know. But the 2005 Confederation’s Cup in Germany showed an interesting result. It’s not World Cup, but anyway… Brazil and Argentina at the final. I hope history will be revisited in Germany 2006.

Portugal has a nice chance to win this winter. June is winter here in Brazil, he he he. People say summer as the season is the same all over the world.

I must admit, Kris, you are a bit annoying. But I’m Brazilian, I can endure you. You help me prove how much Argentineans hate us.

At the other hand, I must be prepared to deal with people all over the world too, but as we read on this blog, very few have real issues against Brazil.

I wonder what people will think about this Brazil/Argentina situation…
